Since I got back from Vipassana meditation retreat, I have cut alcohol and caffeine out of my diet, as well as most meat! I feel so light and my skin is amazingly fresh and dewy like never before. I haven’t had a single pimple either! Meditation has meant my mind is clear and I don’t need the artificial stimulation coffee usually gives me.
I have never thought about being a vegetarian until now. I feel so much more alive not eating animals and I have emotional backing for this decision. There is an abundance of fruit and vegetables throughout our world to sustain human life. However, there is NOT enough meat to go around.
It is a well known fact that our species eats too much meat and due to this fact we have created the astronomical demand for more animals to be farmed and killed. Often to keep up with such high demand, animals are injected with hormones to speed up growth, and after they are killed the meat is injected with toxic preservatives to keep it fresh longer. Animals are squashed into cages and endure appalling conditions, just because we are greedy.
I do not condemn the ingestion of animals. I do however condemn our overindulgence. I am not completely vegetarian. If my mum cooks a family meal that contains meat, I will not turn it away and be ungrateful. However when I am in charge of my own cooking and buying food I will strictly adhere to a vegetarian diet, hence I feel I am doing my part to not take advantage of the animals we love, and to savor meat only once in a while for an iron boost.
There is PLENTY of raw, fresh, delicious food to go around on this planet people. The more untouched and natural you go with produce, the better for the environment!
Thanks for listening to my rant ;) but trust me, your body will thank you for it - just think - sparkling eyes, shiny hair, clear skin… It’s all achievable by going RAW and natural. Love & peace from your PRO VEGE MAMA x x x
